Motorcycle – Roadrunners 66

Coordinator: Barry MORTON

Outings are currently every three weeks on a Tuesday, but may change; members are individually emailed in advance.

We are are a group of like minded individuals who enjoy outings on our bikes or scooters around the region taking in the fresh air and countryside. The routes are designed to include easy riding in convoy with fast and slow sections, sometimes in the mountains, around the vineyards, or along the coastal roads.

A typical day-out involves meeting up at a start point possibly for a coffee, before setting out on the first section of the route. At around mid-day a venue will have been chosen for lunch where we can relax, enjoy the scenery and fortify ourselves for the afternoon’s return ride to a convenient point for our ride home. Last year we enjoyed a number of rides with a range of about 50 miles, some of which ventured into Spain.

We don’t go out if it’s wet, windy or cold and members are encouraged
to share their favourite rides with the group and lead on occasions.

You don’t have to have a “Harley” to join and we have a variety of
machines in the group that manage to handle and keep up with the
moderate pace at which we proceed very well, even if some change gear
more than others.

The first ride of this year was easy, of a coastal nature, and an opportunity for new members to venture out and enjoy the comradely spirit of the group.
