Birding 15th May

After threats of flooding, storms, strong winds etc a few of the group ventured to Aguaimolls and found a warm, calm and sunny day with no shortage of birds plus a coypu and a deer.
Maybe the calm weather allowed birds to “pose” for us, and many were willing, including a falcoln, cuckoo, purple and squaco herons, plus a pair of great crested grebes building (very badly) a nest.
One thing I hadn’t seen there for a couple of years were large puddles across most of the footpaths, so maybe our water levels are returning to normal(ish)
Next trip will be Wednesday 19th June, as usual venue to be decided later.
