51 members attended the February quiz that was again held at the Joa Casino on Thursday 7 February. The day on which, 183 years ago, Charles Dickens published his first successful book, a collection of his articles from various journals, Sketches by ‘Boz’ – his pseudonym. This marked his rise to celebrity and was followed shortly by Pickwick Papers and Oliver Twist.
Twelve teams participated. Jim Ritchie and Maureen Bangs posed the questions on a variety of musical topics with the audience frequently breaking into song.
